We offer a variety of classes here at our store. Please check out the links listed below for upcoming class dates. You are also welcome to see our classes in a calendar format at this link.
Almost all of our classes are open to students ages 5 and older, unless otherwise noted.
In addition to our student classes listed below; we also offer time for adults in our store. We usually do not have any special adult classes; but you are welcome to come during our regular store hours for a "drop-in" session. Our store is open from 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM Monday through Saturday. If you are interested in more information about our "drop-in" sessions; please check out our Adults page.
General Sewing classes are offered in addition to several specialty classes. Previous sewing experience is not required for most of the classes. Some of the advanced classes do require that you already know the basics of sewing and that will be noted next to those classes.
For all General Sewing classes, students will be taught how to properly use a sewing machine, including all safety features and techniques. Once the student is comfortable using a sewing machine, they will begin their project. Several small projects will be available for the students to choose from including small sleeping bags, tooth fairy pillows, 18" doll clothes, and totebags. Advanced students are always welcome to come to the General Sewing classes and work on more advanced projects, if that date works best for you! Generally, students will complete one whole project in the 2-hour period.
For the specialty classes, students will concnetrate on that particular type of sewing. Usually we have one certain project that the students will all work on; but perhap s cut out in a few different colors of fabric so that they can still make a unique project. All supplies and materials needed for each of the classes will be provided; however, if your child has a certain fabric that they would like to use, they are welcome to bring it along.

In our woodworking classes, students will learn how to properly sand each piece of wood before beginning construction. We will review with them the different types of sandpaper and their uses; and show them how to sand with the grain of the wood. Once all pieces have been properly sanded; students will be instructed on how to assemble the pieces to make their project. Once all pieces have been glued and nailed together; the students will be able to paint their projects. A selection of several different colors of paint will be available for the students to use.
All woodworking classes are available to students ages 5 and older unless otherwise noted. Paint T-shirts, paint aprons, safety goggles, and all necessary tools will be provided for use during the class.
Although we provide both oversized T-shirts and paint aprons for the students to wear while in the woodworking room; we still recommend that students wear old clothes to the class. Even though the clothes are completely covered on top, students still seem to be able to get paint on them somewhere!

We want all the gifts that the students bring home to be a surprise!
Students will be making a variety of projects and will be bringing them home ready-to-go in a gift bag. All you need to do is put a bow and name tag on it and you are set for the holidays. Some of the crafts that the students will be doing include sewing, woodworking, glass etching, and beading. However, we may throw in a different project on some of the classes. By the time class is finished, students should have some great gifts to give to family and friends.
Although we provide both oversized T-shirts and paint aprons for the students to wear while in the woodworking room; we still recommend that students wear old clothes to the class. Even though the clothes are completely covered on top, students still seem to be able to get paint on them somewhere!

In these classes, we begin by letting each student choose a brand new Webkinz! We do not do any of the online registration part of the webkinz; so each child will take home the stuffed animal and may do it with their parent's help. Once each student has chosen a new Webkinz, we will then start creating a wonderful world for them to call home. The thing we love the best about this class is that it is a combination of many of our other classes. Throughout the course of the session, students will do a woodworking project, a sewing project, and knitting project, a crochet project, and a beading project! By the time we finish, your child will have the happiest new "pet" on the block! In order to complete all projects, students should plan to attend all classes in the session.
For some of the projects, we will be painting. Although we provide both oversized T-shirts and paint aprons for the students to wear while doing the woodworking projects; we still recommend that students wear old clothes to the class. Even though the clothes are completely covered on top, students still seem to be able to get paint on them somewhere!

In our Needle Arts class; students will learn several differnt types of needle projects. Previous experience is not required for any of the projects and all supplies will be provided for the class. Students will learn how to knit, crochet, macrame, or use a knitting loom. Of course, this is a beginner class, so the students will not complete more than one, or even a very large project in just a couple of hours; but it will give them basics they need to know to get started with a new craft.
Students will learn to use knitting needles. In this class, students will learn how to cast onto knitting needles and then how to start making new rows. If you think that your student would like to continue this project at home afte the class; we recommend that you bring a pair of knitting needles to class for the student to learn so that they can take the home to continue. Otherwise, the student will continue working on the project until just before the end of classtime and will then learn to cast off.
Students will learn how to begin crocheting. Beginning iwth the chain stitch, students will start with a simple easy project that only uses this first stitch, by making a hair scrunchie. If the students are able to master this stitch before the end of the class, then we will lean how to start making rows of stitches. Some of the projects that the students can choose to start working on include a tissue cover or a small scarf for a stuffed animal. Again, if you would like to bring along your own crochet hook so that the students can bring unfinished projects home, then you are welcome to do so.
In this class, students will learn how much easier it is to knit using a knitting loom. This loom will be provided for the students, but again, if you feel that your student will want to make the project larger (or longer, such as a scarf), then you are welcome to bring your own looms from home. Since this type of knitting goes much faster than using knitting needles, students will be able to make a small blanket for a stuffed animal.
The art of typing knots! Did you know that macrame is making a comeback again? From friendship bracelets to hanging plant holders; there is never an end to the wonderful creations you can make with macrame. In this class, students will either make a friendship bracelet with meetal clasps or a decorative macrame pot ring. A variety of beads will be available for the students to use while making their creations.
