SEWING  CLASS

Sewing classes are offered during every week of Summer Camp.  Classes are available to both beginner and advanced students ages 5—14 years. Previous sewing experience is not required.  Students will be able to choose which type of project they would like to work on and will work at their own pace to complete the projects.

Students are also welcome to bring any fabric and patterns from home or that they have purchased from a fabric store to work on during the class. Students are also welcome to bring their own portable sewing machines from home if they would like experience using their own machines and learn how to thread the machine and bobbins.

Beginner Sewing Students:  For students who have never had sewing lessons in the past, we will begin with how to properly and safely use a sewing machine.  Students will be instructed on how to properly place their hands on the sewing machine, how to turn corners correctly, how to backstitch to secure your threads, and how to achieve sewing straight and correct seams.

Previous Sewing Students:

Students who have had sewing classes in the past will be able to improve their knowledge of sewing and sewing terminology.  We will instruct the students how to read and follow pattern directions, how to interpret layout directions to properly lay out pattern pieces onto the fabric, and how to be creative and add your own embellishments.

The cost for each 15-hour class is $135.00 and includes all supplies and materials needed for class.
